5 people purchased tickets from Maverick seminars to find the person we bought tickets to see Maverick did not represent. We can not reach anyone at Maverick to explain why they would do this. We called Tom Hopkins Seminars (who we bought tickets to see) and they express much dislike for Maverick and said they are owed money from Maverick also they also mentioned they are hearing from many people with my same problem. We will be there on March 7th to personally ask Danniel for our money.
      back.

Maverick Seminars ripped me off for $500.00 by selling tickets to attend Tom Hopkins who they do not even represent per Tom Hopkins. I believe you should check out this company before you subject you trusting comunnity to this (in my opinion) untrusting company.

I would like to attend the Carlsbads Chamber’s First Friday Breakfast to speak to Mr. Williams myself and ask him why he would rip me off like this and have him served papers for small claims court at the same time.

Mr. Williams didn’t bother to show up at our Carlsbad First Friday breakfast. Not only didn’t he show up, he didn’t have the decency to let the Chamber know what happened.

To this day, he hasn’t explained why he didn’t show up. With the above comments, maybe we now know what’s up. I guess he’s a little challenged in the integrity department.

Sounds like you should think twice about Mr. Williams and his Maverick Seminars.

This guy really scammed people out of money? He told me he worked with Tom Hopkins. Did any of you get your money back?

      Maverick Seminars,

After much time and research done on this company, here is some interesting information that I think everyone needs to know.

Maverick Seminars has promoted keynote speakers such as Tom Hopkins, and others. I was one company who invested in the training offered by Maverick Seminars in SD area. I invested in 20 gift cards that could be used for a live event or training products they offered. I was very upset to find out the date of the live event was changed and had to be rescheduled from the original date. As I was upset and wanted to find out why Tom Hopkins did not show up for the event I called Tom Hopkins office and spoke to one of his reps and they told me yes Tom was to be there but could not tell me why he did not show up this made me even more mad. After much research, I found out that Tom Hopkins has done a no show to Maverick Seminars and other promoters in the past like Results Seminars a company he has done business with for more then 20 years. If Tom Hopkins did not show up for Maverick Event and has a pattern of not showing up for event It is Tom Hopkins not Maverick Seminars you should be mad at. Yes I know that I spent a lot of money in the gift cards for training but Maverick Seminars made it right for me to attend 3 other events and even bought us all lunch to make up for any innocence. I am glad I did business with Maverick Seminars and not Tom Hopkins, Maverick made it right for us not sure why everyone else has an issue. You should really look into this more.

This company came highly recommended from Tom Hopkins International, especially Debra. I also invested in the March 26, 2008 seminar and was very upset and discouraged by the rescheduling. I contacted Maverick Seminars and spoke with a customer service rep. who explained the policy…whatever. I then contacted Tom Hopkins (Debra) who quickly changed comments about Maverick Seminars????? What going on????? I asked around and found some interesting points about Tom Hopkins International and the March 26, 2008 event. It seems that Tom Hopkins did cancel the event and has left Maverick Seminars holding the bag. Not sure what’s going on, but where is the truth?

    8. Debra Simpson says on May 29th, 2008 at 12:40 pm

As a solopreneur in North County,I merely use the blog to help other solopreneurs know what’s going on, networking wise, in the Tri City area. I always share what the current Carlsbad Chamber First Friday breakfast program is about.

I emphasized the “personally” presents portion because I heard from another solorpreneur that Daniel Williams wouldn’t be there in person, but would be sending a rep to the breakfast.

No one showed up and our Chamber President, Ted Owen filled in, with rave reviews.

It’s unfortunate that there are solopreneurs who feel they have been ripped off by Maverick. I don’t have any idea what the truth is. Obviously, you should proceed with caution if you decide to work with Maverick.

I merely share the program info and do not in any way endorse the speaker, unless I personally know the speaker and their business.

I invested in with Maverick Seminars, but don’t feel like I got “ripped off.” I was irritated to learn about the cancellation so I called Tom Hopkins international and spoke with someone named Debra; she informed me that Maverick Seminars was promoting for Tom Hopkins at the time of the March 26, 2008 event but is no longer promoting for Mr. Hopkins.

I didn’t receive a refund from Maverick but opted to attend one of the events that Maverick Seminars put on in the SD area. I thought it was great, besides the training Maverick Seminars provided breakfast, lunch, and an afternoon snack. Not sure where the scam lies, but I would suggest finding out what is really going on. You know what they “there are three sides to the story: Hopkins, Maverick, and the truth!

    10. Mike Clarke says on May 29th, 2008 at 4:14 pm

I too invested in the Maverick Seminars training program. I really did not want to go see the speaker Tom Hopkins I have been in sales more than 20 years and find his “stuff” is old and does not work in today’s market place. Nick who came into our office said that Tom has new stuff and I would like it. I am sure that most of you would agree with me that someone who USED to sell home’s in Cal.25 plus years ago and has not sold anything lately would be outdated. I have personally seen Tom Hopkins more than one time and it is the same old same old stuff he has nothing new to offer us as at all. I was going only because my team wanted to make a day of it.

When I was notified that the event had been changed to another date I was upset at the time. When we contact Maverick Seminars I spoke to a Danniel Williams he shared with me he is one of the owners he let me know that I could attend another event in the SD area I was happy to know that my money was not wasted. He assured me that the gift cards we bought would be good for training products or another live event. Therefore, we all decided to attend another live event in SD area. BOY AM I GLAD WE DID.
We went to another event not a TOM HOPKINS event it was the best I have been too in years! I also had a chance to meet Danniel and WOW what a person he is one of the best sales trainers I have come across in years. Danniel is now our in-house sales trainer we have had him in our office once already and we will have him in another three times this year. The training his company offers out weights anything Tom Hopkins or Brian Tracy has. He is the best out there.

      Question?

I too am a public speaker and promoter. I know first hand that, as a promoter when a speaker does not show up it’s the SPEAKERS fault not the promoters fault. I also know first hand that as people we put the blame on others so we do not look bad in the public eye. I do not know Maverick Seminars personally but heard only good things about them. I do know Tom Hopkins and think he was a fair trainer back in the day. If Tom did not show up for the SD event it was not Maverick Seminars fault it’s Tom’s fault he was the speaker he should have been there no matter what. Ask yourself this question. A speaker or trainer like Tom Hopkins why did he not show up, if Tom cared about his students as he calls them why was he not there. That’s the real question.
As a speaker, I would show up to a date no matter what. I do not care what the promoter said or did if I had a schedule date than I would be there for the people. If Tom was schedule to be there he should have shown up no matter what if he cared about his so-called students. Bad on Tom.

    12. Nick says on May 31st, 2008 at 5:23 am

I am the rep that came into a majority of the offices and promoted the Tom Hopkins event.

First off, this was not an act of the speaker, rather the promoter, Mr. Williams. Mr. Williams is a second rate speaker who was “fired” by Tom Hopkins for his unethical business practices and in the process declined to pay me my final check and desroyed my name in San Diego. This above note from Mike Clarke is an obvious fake as I keep info on my clients and he is not one of them. There is too much “good” press here that some are obviously fabricated from Maverick Seminars trying to save face, notice how none of the “good” press never mentions their company for a testimonial.

    13. Terry Donahue says on June 2nd, 2008 at 7:19 pm

Danniel Williams reputation among Tom Hopkins, Brian Tracy and the industry as a whole is disgraceful I found out, and not one promoter will work with him at this point. It is too bad that Mr. Williams found the need to come on this site under alias and tlak highly about hime and his practices.

I called Tom Hopkins International and the FACT is is that Danniel Willims never paid the fee for Mr. Hopkins and kept the ticket money of the seminar attendees. Shameful

    14. Dallas Butler says on July 22nd, 2008 at 2:17 pm

I also signed up for the Tom Hopkins Seminar through Maverick Seminars and I was very excited to attend the Tom Hopkins Seminar in Carlsbad. when the Seminar was cancelled I was told by Maverick that they would be able to reschedule Tom at a later date. I then contacted Tom Hopkins International and asked them directly and they told me that Maverick Seminars does not do business with Tom Hopkins and that they owe a substantial amount of money to them. I believe if Maverick Seminars can not supply the speaker that they promoted and promised they should refund the money and if somebody is interested in another speaker that they should resign up for that particular speaker of interest and not be forced to see a speaker they do not want to see. I feel Maverick is the one responsible due to the fact that they took the money and that they could not fulfill their obligation.

      Very poor business practices!!!

Danniel Williams came into my place of work and did a seminar. I payed my employees but have not recieved a dime from maverick seminars. My repeated calls are ignored. I think I have been had!

Danniel Williams is a coward. I cant imagine what kind of man would take peoples money like that The Mavericks should do something about him trashing their reputation!

Why hasn’t anyone contacted the Attorney General?????? He is committing fraud.

    22. Joe Smith says on September 28th, 2008 at 2:42 pm

Also, look into his background. He is not who he says he is. He whole bio is one big sham, lie and fraudelent made up story. He had been running this scam and has become pretty good at it. It is not fair for honest hardworking people buy into this. The Attorney General should be notified and his whole business should be investigated.
